The Daubs arrived on Father's Day for a week and a half of fun! Because our small apartment could not accommodate an additional family of five, they rented a cool Airbnb apartment near Casa Batllo. We tried to spend as much time as possible en famille eating and drinking and visiting the sites, such as,
Park Guell,
Parc de la Ciutadella and the
Chocolate Museum! Our favorite outing was to the
Barcelona Zoo. It was a shady oasis in the middle of the city where we wandered around and visited with lots of different animals. The play area there is to die for and includes a zip line! It is a must do for all families with kids.
For the last four days of their visit to Spain, we stayed in the quaint town of
Begur on the Costa Brava. The town is a hidden gem of winding streets, cool cafes and lovely shops. The house that the Daubs rented was on the edge of town so we were able to walk there easily (albeit uphill!) The beaches were just a short drive away and we spent time at
Platja Fonda,
Sa Riera and
Sa Tuna. Our favorite was Sa Tuna! It is a rocky beach so water shoes help, and we only had two pairs, but we divided and conquered and enjoyed!
We loved having Maddie, Elizabeth, Chloe, Melissa and Byron here for such a lovely visit. We can't wait for them to come back soon!
